Navila Armon
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over fifteen years experience working in clinical and educational settings. I work with children, adolescents and adults of all ages. My focus is to help clients explore those factors that perpetuate emotional suffering and self-defeating behavior. I help my clients identify and develop ways to live a more engaged and creative life-focusing more on possibilities for the future and less on the legacy of a traumatic past.
When engaging in treatment, I carefully assess the needs and goals of each client before collaboratively deciding on which approach works best with each individual. I have four years of post-graduate training in psychoanalysis and am trained in cognitive-behavioral methods of treatment. I often implement an integrative stance in methodologies of treatment, integrating mindfulness practices when appropriate in addressing individual needs.
My clinical experience has prepared me to help others cope with trauma, loss, abuse and death. In addition, my own personal experiences provide the context for the work I engage in with my clients. In my therapeutic approach, I strive to be empathic and nonjudgemental. I aim to provide a positive, affirming and safe space where we can develop and reach goals that can lead individuals to implement positive and meaningful change in their lives.
